The medical team peeked and then moved in, professional and quiet. Harry was moved onto the stretcher still on his comforter, rather than trying to move him off. He was wrapped up, monitors attached and the eye patch removed so they could check his injury.
Two months on, the eye socket was still bruised, swollen and stitched and taped up. The lids weren't sunken, suggesting his eye was still under them, but how functional that eye was was another matter. There was evidence of multiple surgeries around the socket and temple and then it was all gone from view as padding and bandaging was being applied.
He stirred as his face was touched, one hand reaching to try and hit a nurse, who caught it and held it to the side. "Gawain, hold that hand before he tries to hit someone again. I want an iv for hydration and pain control before we move him to the ambulance. Galahad, please refrain from hitting the medical staff. He is unarmed, correct?"
Unarmed was important. He was bad enough unarmed, they didn't need him producing a weapon.
